TYPES

Pectus Excavatum

Pectus Excavatum is the most common chest wall deformity. It is characterized by concave deformation of the rib cage where the chest wall collapses inwards. This condition occurs in approximately one in every 300-400 births.

Pectus Arcuatum

Pectus Arcuatum is the rarest form of chest wall deformities. It combines features of both Pectus Carinatum and Pectus Excavatum deformations. One group of these types of deformities is called Pectus Arcuatum (candidorubrial).

Pectus Carinatum

Pectus Carinatum is the second most common chest wall deformity after Pectus Excavatum. This condition results in abnormal growth of the cartilage between the ribs and sternum, resulting in a visible bulge or dislocation in the chest wall.
